This year’s IIFA awards in Sri Lanka named Jacqueline Fernandez Best Female Debut for her role as Jasmine in Bollywood film Aladin. But who is this raven-haired beauty and where did she come from?

Siblings: Two younger brothers and an older sister
Childhood: Jacqueline grew up in Sri Lanka, but after the conflict there escalated, her family moved to Bahrain.
Talents: Jacqueline speaks Arabic, French and Spanish. She’s also an accomplished horse rider.
Accomplishments: Jacqueline won the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006. Afterwards, she went on to become a television anchor for the Lanka Business Report show.
Bollywood: Jacqueline came to Mumbai to model and ended up landing a leading role in Aladin. After that, she starred in her second Bollywood film, Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai. Her last appearance was as the item girl in a song in Housefull. (She’s the one in the purple sparkly two-piece number. See video below.) No word on any forthcoming projects, but we’re guessing Jackie is in Bollywood to stay
